Hi, I’m Nick.

This blog was originally started to track my journey to become a software developer, but now that I am a software developer, I guess I can say it’s tracking my career as one instead!

My developer journey started back in 2015 when I began teaching myself Python out of curiosity. At the time, coding was just a hobby for me, but I eventually started getting more interested in pursuing it as a career. Since then I’ve also taught myself Swift and completed a full-time immersive bootcamp at Coding Dojo (March 2017 – July 2017), where I managed to land my dream job on graduation day.

Currently, I spend my days as a full stack software engineer here at MarketSquare, where I am endlessly immersed in everything that we need: client-facing JavaScript/UX, Swift iOS mobile apps for our users and logistics teams, backend Rails server/API, or whatever else that comes up.

With my memories of Coding Dojo gradually getting further and further away, I may not be as helpful to those looking for advice on coding bootcamps as I was in the past, but I still welcome questions! I may not have many posts since starting my job, but feel free to come at me with questions about working in a startup too!
